UV printing machines are digital printing systems that cure the ink instantly with ultraviolet light. Because the ink cures on the surface rather than soaking into it, they deliver sharp results even on non-absorbent materials such as glass, wood, metal, acrylic and PVC. This makes it possible to cover very different job types with a single machine.

In this category the Wit-Color UV range brings together roll to roll, flatbed and UV DTF options. Print widths from 1.6 to 3.2 metres are available with Epson i3200 printhead technology. For how the technology works and how models compare, see our UV printing machines guide.

Frequently Asked Questions About UV Printing Machines

Which surfaces can a UV printing machine print on?

Non-absorbent surfaces such as glass, wood, metal, acrylic, PVC, composite and ceramic can be printed directly. Flexible media such as vinyl and banner are handled by roll to roll models.

Why is UV printing fast?

The ink cures within seconds under the UV lamp, so there is no drying wait at the output. The material can go straight to cutting or installation, shortening total production time.

Are UV DTF and classic UV printing the same?

No. Classic UV printing is applied directly to the surface. UV DTF is first printed onto a special film and then transferred, which is an advantage on curved and irregular surfaces.
